Introducing Confidant
Confidant is an easy, secure system for ensuring that people close to you can access your essential information in case of emergency. Confidant is not a repository of documents. Confidant helps with locating critical documents and contacting important people.
A Confidant file typically takes less than an hour to complete and distribute. Confidant guides you through screens that collect vital information by category. Each screen records where to find certain essential documents, how to reach key people, or permits you to enter other guidance. You choose what information you want to enter. Items that do not fit a particular category can be written freeform into “notes” fields throughout the software. Confidant files can be saved, updated or deleted at any time. All Confidant files are encrypted from inception using 256-bit (bank-standard) encryption, and can be locked with a password at the discretion of the user.
It takes only minutes to designate your Confidant file recipients and select the customized file content for each recipient. You choose from a list of potential recipients, decide which sections of the file you wish to share with each recipient (for example, you might share medical contacts with one recipient but not with another), and personalize a cover note to accompany the file. You can add or delete recipients at any time, and update or edit any recipient’s file simply by re-sending new content.
Confidant is designed primarily for email file distribution because of simplicity, security and speed. However, Confidant permits other modes of transmission. Users preview each recipient’s customized file and personalized cover note, then choose how to send the file. For email distribution, Confidant utilizes the user’s preferred email program, attaching the profile and embeds the cover note. Sending is completed by clicking the normal email “send” button. Confidant also permits printing and postal mailing for users who prefer to work with hard-copy.
